Queen visits Romford 6 March 2003 H.M. Queen Elizabeth II visited the London Borough of Havering for the first time in her 51 years as Queen. She stopped first at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch, then a visit to Romford town centre, followed by a trip to a school in Harold Wood to meet the schoolboy who had requested her visit. Golden Jubilee a Success The year 2002 was a success for the Queen’s Golden Jubilee as millions celebrated 50 years of her reign. Despite two personal losses for Her Majesty with the deaths of her mother and her sister, it appears that she enjoyed the historic milestone. One of the highlights was a concert held in the grounds of Buckingham Palace in the summer. |
